Jim is the Project Manager with The CODA Project and has many years experience in design, delivery and evaluation of training programmes and he is responsible for the overall running off the CODA project ensuring all programmes are delivered to the required standard.  Jim is an experienced trainer/personnel manager and has been involved in a number of projects. He is experienced in all aspects of the coordination process, including; NVQ assessor, internal verifier and holds his D32, D33, D34, TDLB level 4, and an experienced internal advisor in Investors In People, this is supported by his qualifications with the chartered institute of personal development in training practice, NEBS management and the University of Ulster Certificate in counselling. Jim has also completed his training in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention.  He also sits on the education sub committee in EDACT and the Northern Ireland Alcohol and Drug strategy training focus group.  Jim attends the National Open College Network Forum in England for the standardisation of National Qualifications which are mapped to the DANOS standards.  

 


 

 

George Newell
TRAINING COORDINATOR

George is the Training Coordinator with The CODA Project and has many years experience in design, delivery and evaluation of training programmes. He is responsible for carrying out training needs analysis of individuals, community groups and organisations and ensuring all programmes are delivered to the required standard. George has recently joined CODA from Belfast Metropolitan College / EBCEC were he worked for 7 years as a tutor within Community Education delivering training in ICT, Essential Skills and Employability Skills. George also managed employment programmes ensuring that long term unemployed people from the local area enhanced their career prospects through training, guidance and education.

Michele English

TRAINING SUPPORT WORKER

Michele is the Training Support Worker within CODA and works with a wide range of community groups and individuals across the South & East Belfast area. Her role includes the development and delivery of accredited and unaccredited programmes. Michele has a BA Hons Degree in European Studies from Queens University Belfast. At present, Michele is studying towards a University of Ulster Degree in Counselling at Belfast Metropolitan College. Michele has a keen interest in youth work and has worked with various youth projects in East Belfast.

 

Louise Colvin
PROJECT SUPPORT WORKER

Louise joined The CODA Project in November 2008 as the Project Support Worker. She has over 15 years experience in various organisations including bereavement and mental health. Louise holds a Diploma in Psychiatric Studies. Since joining the team Louise has completed Child Protection Vulnerable Adults training, Impact of Trauma & Trauma Recovery, Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST), Tier 2 Working with Adolescents Engaged in Risk Taking Behaviour and OCN Level 2 Drugs Awareness Training & Clinical Risk Assessment. Louise is currently studying towards BSc Psychology with the Open University. She currently offers 1-2-1 support to clients referred from within the community and the Life Line Helpline. Her areas of interest are child protection homelessness, suicide/ suicide prevention and patients with dual diagnosis.
